Nothing I've ever said or done should lead you to that conclusion. However, I do have faith in people. The addition of the internet, blogs, and talk radio in the last 10yrs (and 20 yrs if you include when Rush started) has finally added voices to the world of politics which was once only controlled by Washington politicos and the major networks. The truth and facts now has a chance to be shown for all to see. The problem with this new freedom is that the socialists (ie. Hillary, Kucinich, et al.,) and and libertarians (Ron Paul et al.,) are using this newly found resource to their advantage as well. There will always be fringe factions. But I and others (and hopefully you) have enough common sense to judge what is real, and what is perceived. Unfortunately, too often perception IS reality... at least to the uneducated masses. You’ve got to be kidding, whoever said I had faith in politicians. Nothing I’ve ever said or done should lead you to that conclusion. However, I do have faith in people. Liberty - personal freedom from servitude or confinement or oppression. And you are right, I live in fear of the government that passed the Patriot Act without reading it and passed the PA2. There are a great many provisions in both that could easily be used to usurp any rights the American public have thanks to the Constitution. Granted, its intentions were good (probably), and the provisions of the act haven't been used in a detrimental way (that I know of), but it's just the fact that they exist. Of course, I'm sure those in their little paranoid world feel that 4 and 6 have been under assault for the last 6yrs. My suggestion would be to look at these rights and ask which ones have we actually "lost", and which ones do you FEAR are being lost. Big difference between fear and fact. Bring it on......
