Go on YouTube and pull up one of her stump speeches, the one in Cape or in OH, or NC, she was on FIRE!!!!! You just didn't get a chance to hear how good she really is... I hope to vote for her in 2012, it's either her or Bobby Jindal at the moment. The only conservatives out there. No more McCains, Romneys, OR Ron Pauls....

She didn't show me (say) anything as I watched the debate. Perhaps if she would have effectively related any of what you stated, I would have thought more of her.

Like I said in reply to Di, 'tart' may not be the correct word to convey my opinion or thoughts, but it was the best I had at the time on my mind.

Dave, you're one of the smartest people I know. If you don't know I judge people on substance rather than appearance, I just don't know what to say.

I just never saw her substance.

Yep, you got it. To diss Gov Palin as a "tart" shows that you really didn't listen to what see said, you didn't watch her stump speeches in front of 15K-20K people, you didn't like her conservatism (either fiscally or socially), her stance on "Drill now Baby", her willingness to take on old cronies in her own party and toss them out as she did several times in AK, and her guts to call The One a Socialist (something McCain never did directly, he just danced). How else can anyone judge what you said except you never got past her looks, her winks, her style.

That was your problem, not hers.

Sorry to pounce on you nephew, but you're old enough to judge people by more than how they look, or talk.

Wow, my own uncle slyly accuses me of sexism. Don't leave it there, explain if/why you think that.

I stand by Palin not being convincing. I do agree that McCain was doomed by the tip-toeing he kept doing down the middle to not make anyone angry. He needed to take a stand or two and didn't.

Of course, McCain and Obama did a great job in their debate of not answering anything.

I don't know why I bother, Chicago decided long ago that Obama would win Illinois. I have to say my vote truly didn't matter.

First thing, I'm afraid you may be correct and the O administration could be very bad. He's so full of himself, nothing new about that, he even held his first press conference with a podium that said "Office of the President Elect". There has NEVER been such a position, and never will be. The man is EXTREMELY egotistical. I really think he has a messiah complex. He's already talked to the terror organization HAMAS last summer on his pre-victory tour. He told the Iraqi prime minister NOT to sign a "structure of force" agreement with Bush, but wait until he was president. He wants to bail out the automotive unions with $25B, wants another $200B for states (Medicare, expand food stamps, extend unemployment, etc etc). This man is going to be our worst nightmare because he is SOOOOO far to the left of Clinton, or even Carter.

As for Gov Palin. She blew O'Biden out of the water in her VP debate. She was dead-on with the facts. O'Biden had over a dozen factual errors (as reported by Fact-Check after the debate). I mean this was a man who said we and the UN had kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon... Never happened. O'biden is a daily gaft-machine.

Gov Palin was the only true conservative in the race. Her problem was that she was running with a moderate like McCain. Did you notice that he lost the moderate/independent AND the conservative vote in the election? He wouldn't fight, wouldn't take it to The One, even told a lady in a town hall meeting that she would have nothing to fear if The One was presdent, he'd do a fine job... Say What?

I hope you saw Greta's interview with Gov Palin last night. None of that crap about the clothes issue, her not knowing about NAFTA, or thinking that Africa is a country was true. All lies and smears to harm Gov Palin's political future. The lies are coming from the moderate Republican's, McCain's staff, and even from Romney's staff who worked with Gov Paln. They are terrified by how she electrified the crowds and communicated with people (like Ronald Reagan did).

I also suspect you have a bigger problem with strong conservative women (and not just Gov Palin). But that's another story.

She was an airhead in interviews which I saw and in my re-watching of the debate. She is very pretty, and may be smart, but she in no way conveyed that or convinced me.

Perhaps tart is the wrong word, but I can't think of a good one.
