Mr. and Mrs. Smith is quite possibly the best movie ever

The movie has everything. There is action, romance, drama, technology, comedy, quality soundtrack, and of course Angelina Jolie.

The gunplay and action cannot be beat by anything other than perhaps Die Hard. The number of shots fired is un-freaking-believable, especially in the end scenes. I’m sure the cinematography and scenes are due to the director, staff, etc., but the chemistry between Angelina and Brad cannot be denied.

The tension betwixt them could be cut with a knife up until they start making-out after kicking the crap out of each other at the climax. The romance between these two brings the story to a believable level. I swear that scene is the best reuniting ever in a modern film (except in Jerry Maguire, but that’s just a drama/romance piece).

While Pitt and Jolie are great on all levels, the little barbed quips they trade at some points are priceless. Vince Vaughn then adds to the mix with his interspersed shots of one-liners. On top of those three giving small shots of comedic-break, the scenes in the beginning of the film in a marriage counselor’s office are priceless.

Icing on the cake are the musical tracks used. When the movie hits its peak as Brad and Angelina are shooting and kicking the crap out of each other, three songs are used at each stage of the fight, and they perfectly suit each stage. I won’t ruin it for you, but just watch it then re-watch that bit.

So, my sad excuse for a review of a 2-year-old movie aside, go give it a rent.

Watch it with an open mind and someone you love.

This weekend was spectacular

I did nothing, and I loved every minute of it. No HoH, no meetings, no homework, nothing.

Now, I do have homework to do, but it’s not due until tomorrow, and I should get it done easily this evening. I just have to answer some questions for CSCI 1101 and review my last presentation for COMM 1101. No big issues there.

Changed the spark plugs and wires in the Hyundai Sunday afternoon. Thankfully, that took care of the misfire in cylinder 3 that was making the car run like poo. It’s amazing what simple routine maintenance can accomplish.

Afterward, I went and did some grocery shopping. Now all there is to do is concentrate on school work. Yay.
