Ice Age 2, Doom, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

The kids and I watched LWW last night. It’s the first movie that they actually sat through and watched from beginning to end. That’s quite an accomplishment. Usually they are bored about 1/4 to 1/2 way through and go play. I have to say that from what I remember of the book, it was pretty good.

Doom, on the other hand was hokey at best. I understand it’s hard to adapt a game inspired by a movie (Alien) into a movie, however it could have worked. The saving grace for me was a 5-10 minute period where the movie was filmed like the game. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a first-person shooter. You are looking at the screen as if you are looking out your character’s eyes. That was a great touch, but also the only reason to see it.

Ice Age 2. Well, it was okay. Just another way to make money from a sequel in my opinion, though. Erich was horrible and wouldn’t sit still at the theater. He’s at about 50/50 odds of making it through a movie in the theater. Still, the kids had a good time and that’s what matters.

Emily is grocery shopping as we didn’t want to take the kids to the store acting up. They are supposed to be taking a nap, but aren’t from what I hear coming out of their room. I’m doing laundry and dishes. Yay for me.
