Alltel purchased First Cellular of Southern Illinois back in May, but today is the official end of the company. Our sign is coming down off the front of our corporate headquarters and a lot of the people in our office are sad. I don’t blame them. I’m not terribly excited about Alltel coming in and gutting the company.

But progress is progress and things must move forward.
