Monday Show

Kevin, Murph, and I discuss all kinds of things. The KCBS, Eddie Van Halen is a jerk, some guy beats a toddler to death, and so much more. Go have a listen, but not around kids or if you are sensitive to vulgar language.

We keep trying to have a perfectly clean show, but it doesn’t seem to happen.

Feeling better and filling-in

I’m finally feeling better from whatever sinus/allergy crap was kicking my butt. It’s not completely gone, but my lungs do not feel like they are full of Jell-o any longer, and I can breathe somewhat.

Thanks to all of you who emailed and offered well-wishes. It made me feel good to get support from you guys.

Kevin has asked me to fill-in for him since he is gone to Florida this week. I need to make the Monday (missed), Wednesday, and Friday Podcasts happen. Obviously I missed Monday, but recovering and getting things together for my first day of class this summer didn’t leave much time. I thoroughly apologize to anyone and everyone whom I have let down in this aggregious situation.

I promise I will do my best to get Wednesday and Friday out the door with no excuses!

Guitar Hero Tournament, Mount Vernon, IL, 5/31/2008

UPDATE: There will be a 2nd Tournament due to the success of the first one. Contact us at jaycees@mvn.net if you are interested in participating, sponsoring, or just have questions.

In case you somehow missed it, I am a member of the Mount Vernon Jaycees.

This Saturday, May 31, 2008 we will be hosting a Guitar Hero Tournament at the Granada Center for the Performing Arts. Registration will open at 8AM, with Easy level competition starting at 10AM.

I won’t bother posting the boring details here. The Register-News printed our press-release regarding the event here.

i will say that we are putting major effort behind this concept, and it should be great fun for everyone involved. We greatly appreciate the Granada group letting us rent the facility for this project, and will be giving 100% of the door proceeds to them.

The prizes for each winner’s category will be ~20% of the total registration in the form of a gift-certificate, and will vary of course with participation.

Pizza Pizza! Returns to Mount Vernon?

According to the Marion location, Little Caesar’s will be back in Mount Vernon soon. Apparently a tanning salon that signed a 6-month lease will be replaced with the latest iteration of the pizza franchise.

Personally, I am looking forward to the return of Crazy Bread and $5 Hot ‘n Ready’s. Maybe the competition will force some of the other lackluster pizza establishments to be a little more realistic in their pricing.

Just wanted to share this wonderful bit of news with those of you that may care. Now I resume waiting for my crazy bread…

5/23 Friday Podcast

This one is toned down quite a bit. We discuss food quite a bit for some reason in this episode. There’s also ‘ducks down a drain’, tigers in the mall, and so much more.

For those of you getting episodes from here, don’t forget to head over to bigkev.us and get Big Kev’s Monday and Wednesday episodes.

Even though we are more toned-down somehow, I’m still going to say this isn’t for kids.
