Progress

We actually came up with some good ideas at the board meeting last night. There are many good projects that we will be undertaking in the next few months that should prove worthwhile and enjoyable.

Erich cracked me up yesterday when I asked him “How’s it going”, he replied “Pretty well”. Maybe you just had to be there, but I found it hilarious.

Sissy bumped her foot last night and wouldn’t go to sleep until I got home so she could tell me about it. I have no idea why she had to inform me, but she thought she did.

Damn Parrots

Saturday was relatively uneventful. We all just sat around the house and relaxed. Did some laundry and vacuumed. We’re wild people.

Then the kids decided they would pick up their room after I had been asking them all day. So I called Jennifer because they had been asking to go out there all day and I countered with the picking up of their room. Jennifer said it was okay, so we took the kids out there for a few hours.

Em and I then had dinner at “El Amigos”. It’s a pretty good joint, but if you’ve been to “El Rancherito”, it’s the same food. I will say that El Amigos was a spot better. Unfortunately, while I was eating I couldn’t get over the two very large parrots staring at me. They made for nice atmosphere, but creeped me out. (See photos)

Then we went to the mall and picked up some new clothes for the kiddos. I picked Erich a few polo shirts, and we got Amaya a very cute little outfit. Hopefully the clothes make it to pictures at school on Monday.

SOS

Nothing exciting at work today. Usual customer calls and issues.

After work I came home and did laundry, dishes, and started dinner. It’s amazing what you can get done in 1/2 hour. Then I took most of the movies we had out back to Blockbuster and went to pick up the kids (Jen had them).

On the way home I got to hear all about “Circus Day” at daycare. Apparently the kids had a great time. They had even more fun when they got to go with Aunt Jennifer and play with Tysia. The kids ate while they were there, so my chicken alfredo and pasta goes in the refrigerator for Mom tonight and us tomorrow.

Unfortunately this week is the end of inventory at the warehouse so there are joyous 10 hour days mandatory and quite the good possibility of working Saturday and Sunday. I hate her work. As for me, the uncertainty at work lingers. Upper management is all about the positive spin, and I’m trying to stay upbeat, although there are MANY around me that are CONSTANTLY being negative.

Whether I have a future with Alltel or not (hopefully I do), I’m excited about the possibilities and am going to do my darnedest to impress them.

The gym and poker.

Work was pretty uneventful. Afterward I went and got a membership at a local gym. Did 15 of cardio and 15 of weights. Yeah, I know it’s not much, but realize I haven’t done anything workout-ish in 2+ years. Plan on keeping it up and losing most of the lard. At least that’s the plan.

Came home and showered, then went to the Jaycee’s meeting. Same old stuff there: talk, discuss, and play the poker. I had a good time sitting with the guys and playing cards. It was relaxing and I didn’t have to think. That’s probably why I was out after an hour. Oh well, again, it was fun.

Remembering Fat Tuesday

Yesterday at work we got to wear jeans, bring food, and generally have more fun than usual. I think a good time was had by all. My day was busy with customer calls and the usual office-work, but it was a beautiful day inside and outside the office.

Em replaced the drain in the bathtub yesterday during her day off. I must say she is the best handy-wife ever. She found two fountains at the local shop, but I wasn’t totally impressed with either. There was one that had 2 tiers which I preferred. Three tiers with our little yard would be too much, IMO.

Before I went to bed, I started some clothes drying (I had forgotten to start the dryer). Then as I’m turning out the light I hear thumping – assume there are shoes in the dryer and move on. THEN – thump, meow, thump, meow…..

Apparently Waffle (cat) had been napping with the clothes and was being dried. Fortunately she was only in there a few seconds and was only rattled, but it was hilarious to watch her stumble out from the confusion.
