UK

Tonight I listed my Utilikilt on eBay. It was painful, but had to be done. Other than that, generally stayed at the house. I took the kids to the local park this afternoon and we played for about an hour. I think they had a blast playing with one of the local kids that happened to be there.

Tomorrow starts a new week. Maybe something life-changing will happen. Never know. Hopefully I will get a job overseas. I appreciate this country, but more and more I am becoming very unhappy with the government. AT&T and the NSA in cahoots? W handing out wiretaps like it’s going out of style? The governor of Illinois wants to increase the FOID fee to an exorbinate amount? The RIAA successfully extorting money out of people who have likely done nothing illegal? The MPAA and movie studios enacting DRM that effectively eliminate Fair Use? The DMCA? WTF?

I joined the EFF. Not that I or they may solve the world’s problems, but it’s something. Maybe I can help make a difference in some small way.

Ice Age 2, Doom, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

The kids and I watched LWW last night. It’s the first movie that they actually sat through and watched from beginning to end. That’s quite an accomplishment. Usually they are bored about 1/4 to 1/2 way through and go play. I have to say that from what I remember of the book, it was pretty good.

Doom, on the other hand was hokey at best. I understand it’s hard to adapt a game inspired by a movie (Alien) into a movie, however it could have worked. The saving grace for me was a 5-10 minute period where the movie was filmed like the game. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a first-person shooter. You are looking at the screen as if you are looking out your character’s eyes. That was a great touch, but also the only reason to see it.

Ice Age 2. Well, it was okay. Just another way to make money from a sequel in my opinion, though. Erich was horrible and wouldn’t sit still at the theater. He’s at about 50/50 odds of making it through a movie in the theater. Still, the kids had a good time and that’s what matters.

Emily is grocery shopping as we didn’t want to take the kids to the store acting up. They are supposed to be taking a nap, but aren’t from what I hear coming out of their room. I’m doing laundry and dishes. Yay for me.

Never take Tuesday off

It makes Wednesday feel like Monday all over again. My Cards won on Monday, so that ruled. Saturday’s M-Night was basically a flop. Em cooked like a mad-woman and made lots of yummy food. The rest of the Jaycees brought food as well. Plenty of food, but no guests. A maximum of 20 people showed. Maybe 3 were guests.

On the plus side, Emily’s procedure Tuesday went fine and she was given a clean bill of health. Woot.
